Assocation of Divorced and Separated Catholics

The Association provides practical and spiritual support for members who are in the early stages of separation or divorce. Although there is no group locally, the church has links with the Portsmouth and Salford groups.

Churches Together in Woodley

The Woodley Council of Christians routinely plans joint activities with the other local churches. Events include united services, the Lenten study groups, the Good Friday service in the shopping precinct, the open-air service in Woodford Park during the carnival and Christmas carols at the winter extravaganza.

Reading and Wokingham LIFE Group

LIFE runs a pregnancy care centre at Watlington House, Watlington Street, Reading RG1 4RJ. Tel 958 1699. It offers free pregnancy testing, confidential counselling and practical help to anyone with pregnancy problems or considering abortion. New members to LIFE, especially those willing to train as counsellors are always welcome. Donations of baby equipment and clothes are also gratefully accepted.

St Vincent de Paul Society

The Society organises volunteers to visit the poor, elderly and vulnerable - at home, hospital or residential home. The local group meets for an hour once a fortnight on Mondays at 8.00 in Our Lady of Peace in Earley. Members feed back information on the people they visit, and plan the next week's activities.
