Confirmation
Confirmation is regarded as the perfection of Baptism, binding the person more completely to the Church.
Preparation takes place every two years and usually begins early in the school year, with the ceremony being held in the summer at St John the Evangelist Cathedral in Portsmouth. In normal circumstances, candidates will be in year 8 and year 9 at Secondary School. Meetings take place in the church centre, and part of the preparation is to attend a Confirmation retreat which involves an overnight stay.
